Although Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” hit song promises that “tonight’s gonna be a good night,” unfortunately this wasn’t the case for the famous group at the NRJ Awards.

According to New York Daily News, the Black Eyed Peas were embarrassed that their group were incorrectly announced as the winner of the best international group honour.

Luckily, none of the members of the Black Eyed Peas actually stepped onto the stage when the show’s presenters Ke$ha and French choreographer Kamel Ouali accidentally called their name.

When Ouali realized he made a mammoth mistake, he quickly apologized and then announced that the German rock band Tokio Hotel was the actual winner of the award. He then went on and said that the information card was apparently confusing because it listed the main winner as well as the other nominees.

The crowd weren’t too happy about this blunder as they immediately responded by booing the host down.

Ouali then accepted the fact that he did make a huge mistake and then he quickly blamed NRJ for listing all of the candidates on the one card.

But although The Black Eyed Peas weren’t able to win the best international group award, they did win the best international song award for “I Gotta Feeling” so at least they didn’t come home empty handed.

Well the Black Eyed Peas will be flying back to the U.S. at the Grammys next Sunday where they are up for six awards, including two of the biggest categories, Album and Record of the Year so let’s cross our fingers that there won’t be any mix-ups this time round!
