Survivor: Celebrating 10 years!
It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the first season of Survivor. With 20 of the series’ most recognizable faces set to return next week for Heroes vs. Villains, it’s time to pay homage to 19 seasons and a whole lot of Tribal Councils. Premiering on February 11 on the CBS Network,’ Surviving Survivor’ will take a look back with some of the show’s most memorable players, ranging from recent runner-up Russell Hantz (Survivor: Samoa) to the show’s first winner, Richard Hatch. In an exclusive clip, Hatch reflects on his time in Borneo and reveals his surprising secret to success.
Past memorable Survivors have been invited to return for the upcoming season but Hatch will not be joining them. He was convicted in 2006 for failing to pay taxes on the $1 million he won back in the show’s inaugural season in 2000. A judge recently denied his request to be released from home confinement.
For the Heroes vs Villians series, the logo was changed from “Outwit, Outplay, Outlast,” to “Return, Revenge, Redemption”, perhaps giving a taste to the intrigues, mind games and pure stamina – mentally and physically – that the audience will see in the coming weeks.
Those returning for the “Villains”: Tyson Apostol (”Tocantins”); Randy Bailey (”Gabon”); Sandra Diaz-Twine (”Pearl Islands”); Danielle DiLorenzo (”Panama”); Russell Hantz, (”Samoa”); Jerri Manthey (”Australian Outback” and “All-Stars”); Rob Mariano (”Marqeusas” and “All-Stars”); Parvati Shallow (”Cook Islands” and “Fans vs. Favorites”); Ben Wade (”Tocantins”) and Courtney Yates (”China”).
The returnees for the “Heroes”: Rupert Boneham (” Pearl Islands” and “All-Stars”); James Clement (”China” and “Fans vs. Favorites”); Colby Donaldson (”Australian Outback” and “All-Stars”); Cirie Fields (”Panama” and “Fans vs. Favorites”); Amanda Kimmel (”China” and “Fans vs. Favorites”); Jessica “Sugar” Kiper (”Gabon”); Stephenie LaGrossa (”Palau” and “Guatemala”); James “JT” Thomas (”Tocantins”); Tom Westman (”Palau”) and Candice Woodcock (”Cook Islands”).
