5 wardrobe items every female should own

WalnutPlatElfaFreeCloset_x

There are so many styles/trends/fashions about, it’s hard to know which ones to invest in, and which ones to leave alone. Sometimes it’s best to window shop and save money, rather than spending big on clothes that are just going to be old news the next week. Below are five staple ardrobe essentials for women. Every cupboard should boast these five items. If yours doesn’t- it’s time to hit the shops!

1. Jeans: Obviously. Every woman should own a pair of jeans. I’m talking those ones that, no matter how fat you’re feeling or how bad a day you’re having, you can pull them on and feel good. Ones that can be worn around the house, but dressed up if need be. Jeans that make your butt look good, your legs look long…you get the drift. It’s worth forking out money for a pair that you love. Chances are they will last years- and you’ll definately get wear out of them.

2.An LBD: Every woman needs a little black dress. One that can take you from work to a night out. I’ve blogged about finding the perfect one for your body shape before- go read it! LBDs are great- play them up with accesories and heels, or dress them down with sandals and a headscarf. Again, you’ll be wearing it for years so spend the money!

3. A blazer: And not one for the office either. Blazers are great for nights out, thrown over a cocktail dress or short and tee combo. Find one that matches your personality- blazers don’t HAVE to be tailored and black. Invest in a cropped one for a casual look, a striped one for a nautical style or bright colours for a more quirky look. Remember blazers aren’t just for work. Have fun with them- they’re going to be big this winter.

4. Heels: Another obvious one. I’m talking those heels that, no matter how long you stand in them, you’re feet never get sore. The ones that are so hard to find! Every woman needs a hot pair of heels that don’t cause pain. Trial and error is really the only way to go. For heels that you can get most wear out of, stick to neutral colours like black or beige. In winter, trade your heels for black boots. You can never go wrong.

5. Tees: Every woman should have a draw dedicated to tees. Think vintage, v neck, figure hugging- almost anything. Ones that can be thrown on with a pair of jeans, cut offs or a denim mini and look super hot. You don’t need to fork out heaps of money for these fashion items! Have fun with different colours and prints, and accesorize according to the look you’re trying to create.

There you have it. I could go on about denim shorts, leather jackets and high waisted skirts, but for now- the above is all you need. Get shopping!
