Rules for dressing for the workplace:
The workplace doesn’t have to be boring and devoid of fashion. Who says it has to be unfashionable even if you are doing serious business?
Firstly, try and bring some colour into your outfits. Stay away from boring blacks and greys. Pair your typical suits with bright shades of orange, pink and blue to add vibrancy and life to your work wardrobe.
Accessorising can play a big role in jazzing up your boring workwear. Necklaces, bangles and earrings can be a simple but nice touch to your work outfit. Stay away from glitz and glam and huge dangly earrings which look more nightime than the office. Keep jewellery simple yet classy.
Frills and small detailing can be another way to add some interesting elements to your wardrobe. High neck frill blouses always look sophisticated and classy and are a staple item for any work wardrobe but still remain a favourite of mine. Wear your favourite pencil skirts with a peplum blouse for a modern take on office dressing.
A major rule I have to wardrobe dressing is to ensure that your hem lines are not too short. The worst thing is when you see a lady looking like she wears the same skirt out to night clubs as well as to the office.
Patterned stockings are another way to add some spice to your wardrobe. These can be worn quite sexily on the weekend but teamed with a knee length skirt or dress they can be perfect for your officewear.
Last and not least, dress fashionable and have some fun within the office limits of course.
