From the soon to be iconic dripping in white paint pink stiletto from Tom Ford to the knee-high Doc Martens on Jeremy Scott’s runway or from Balenciaga’s platform Crocs to YSL’s feathered sandals – here are the biggest show trends of the Spring/Summer season.

Glitter

From sparkly stilettos to glam rock platform boots glitter is everywhere this summer. From sequin embellishments on trainers to glam up the daytime look, sequin platform boots to inspire your inner Bowie or shiny stilettos for the night-time party girl. Coach offered Western inspired glittery booties whilst Libertines’ quirky sequin heels stole the hearts of New York Fashion Week goers and Victoria Beckham’s glittery pump will become a cult classic. If sparkly shoes weren’t enough runways like Valentino saw sparkly shoes teams with sparkly socks.

Sheer

The Kim Kardashian Perspex shoe style isn’t going out of fashion. Runways from Dior to Balmain have had sheer or transparent styles. Sheer ankle boots from Balmain, Dior showcased netted boots and Tom Ford added glamour to the board room with sheer pumps with a silver toe cap. Chromat and Alexander Wang revealed completely transparent heels for the edgy fashionista. The most wearable incarnation of the trend is the lucite heels as seen on Prabal Gurung’s delicate shoe boot hybrid and on Marcel Ostertag’s glam rock bootie.From see-through go go boots for the edge girl from the cut out mesh pump for the office fashionista, there is a sheer fashion for you no matter how brave you are.

Cowboy Boots

Once a staple of cowboys and truckers they were a street style staple during fashion weeks. Calvin Klein offered a shiny red cowboy boot, Cinq A Sept’s white boots were glamorous and sexy whilst Coach’s glittery cowboy boots made a comfortable staple perfect to hit the dancefloors in. Givenchy added cowboy boots to evening dresses for a rock n roll remix.

Bold colours

While millennium pink is the color of the moment a lot of brands have been showing bold colors in their footwear. There is an array of vibrant hues, especially yellow, as Fenty’s Puma collection showed. Aquazzura offered an Indian Saris inspired line that featured crystals and jewel tones, Louboutin had bright graffiti prints and Alexandre Birman delivered rainbow bright hues.

Slouchy boots

YSL offered the Instagram boot of the season, the slouchy over the knee sparkly boot, it really put the 80’s rocker staple back on the radar. For Spring/ summer, it’s been updated with white feathers and Rihanna is already a fan. Rihanna’s Fenty Puma line had sporty green striped version giving the club staple a street style twist, The Blonds have been a fan of the style for seasons and Chloe paired theirs with cropped trousers. Chanel’s mixed their slouch boots with the sheer trend for a futuristic rain boot. The slouch boot will even become the must-have for men this season.
