Female Artist of the Month – December 2012

A beautiful girl plus a beautiful voice plus an acoustic guitar equals amazing music.  Meet Jess Greenberg, StarCentral Magazine’s Female Artist of the Month for December 2012.  Even at the mere age of 4 years old, Jess has been fearless about her music.  She had no qualms about singing to an audience while at The Byblos in St. Tropez.  “I requested “Can’t help falling in love with you” by Elvis and the performer asked if I’d sing it. I remember being so excited.”  The next defining moment for her music came when the 18-year old saw the Jack Black movie, ‘School of Rock’.  “I remember that changing my view of music completely!  I started listening to ACDC, Guns n’ Roses, Red Hot Chilli Peppers… and I realised how much I loved rock music.”

Citing Jimi Hendrix as “one of my biggest inspirations”, the London-based artist listens to and loves almost every type of music.  No more is that evident that on her YouTube channel, ‘Jess Greenberg1’.  In it she performs covers from a wide range of musicians from The Beatles to Cee Lo Green, from Kelly Clarkson to Fleetwood Mac, from The Killers to Damien Rice.  Her vocal range is astonishing and her prolific uploads of covers show a passion for her music.  She admits that if she didn’t have to, she would never put down her guitar!  When she is playing, “I can be whoever I want to be. I can take the feeling of the song, do what I want with it and express myself…. it’s what I enjoy doing the most, so that’s enough to never stop me!”

Her passion for her music will have to be shared with future plans to study Economics but, “If I could do anything in the future, I would love to be a musician. To be able to do something I love so much as a career would be a dream come true.”  And so, Jess Greenberg, the StarCentral wishes you every luck for that very future.
