Let’s face it, we Filipinos are overly sentimental creatures. As much as we’d like to deny it, we’re actually lovesick puppies at heart. If ever there was something we can blame for our sentimentality, it would have to be due to the amount of romantic dramas we are bombarded with on a constant basis. So in saying that, let’s all point our fingers to Star Cinema - the biggest peddler of romantic dramas!
Star Cinema has produced numerous quality romantic movies that have dominated the box office over, and over and over again. Sometimes, I just hate the little girl in me that fall victim to the sentimentality of its movies. But then again, at least I’m not alone anyway so I guess that makes me feel better in a sense.
Now on its 16th Anniversary, Star Cinema once again wants to make us cry, reach out for the box of tissues next to you and get all lovey dovey all over again. Their latest movie offering is called “And I Love you So,” it’s a romantic drama starring the gorgeous Bea Alonzo as well as the super hunks Derek Ramsay and Sam Milby.
Bea, Derek and Sam in a romantic drama? Why do I suddenly feel that there’s a lump in my throat and tears are welling in my eyes … *sniff* *sniff*
The plot of the movie is pretty straightforward. It’s a story that revolves around Lara (Bea Alonzo), who is a preschool teacher who has just been widowed five months after marrying her boyfriend of five years who is none other than hunky Oliver (Derek Ramsay). As months went by after his death, she meets Chris (Sam Milby), a man who is also suffering from the loss of his other half. They eventually become friends but as their friendship blossoms, so does their clearly identifiable attraction for each other grows.
Sooo …
Will Lara be able to move on with Chris?
Is it possible for her to open her heart and love again?
Can she ever forget Oliver?
These are the questions that we’re all hoping to be solved when the movie hits cinemas nationwide on August 12, 2009. The movie also stars comedienne Candy Pangilinan, super hottie Nikki Gil and veteran Coney Reyes – and it’s also directed by the great Laurenti Dyogi,
Now if you’re planning to watch this movie then make sure you take 5 boxes of tissues with you as well as 5 packets of Skyflakes – it seems to me that this movie promises to be a tear jerker!
