Kris Aquino vs Ruffa Gutierrez: The big reveal!

Everyone was shocked when Ruffa Gutierrez publicly announced that she has finally decided to leave ABS CBN to seek greener pastures.

But everyone was even MORE shocked when Ruffa Gutierrez shockingly just got up and left in the middle of her last episode for the Buzz!

So what really happened??

Well Ruffa was apparently offended with her co-host Kris Aquino’s comments regarding her move to TV5. This was the comment that started it all: “Ruffa aminin mo ibang level ang saya dito!” to which Ruffa then replied, “Well, I know you don’t have to rub it in, Kris. Sad din, you know sana wag mo naman dagdagan.”

After that, Ruffa DID NOT return to the Buzz.

Kris later released an official statement regarding the incident, she said she actually had no hard feelings towards Ruffa.

“I would like to extend a loving hug to Ruffa. I viewed the tape and although I still feel I gave my comment with affection, maybe it made her feel even worse because she is now moving in a new direction. We had what I believed was a good working relationship in the almost two years we were together on The Buzz, “ she quipped.

“To Ruffa, I sincerely apologize for causing you hurt,” she continued.

Ruffa’s mother, Annabelle Rama, also gave Kris a piece of her mind regarding the issue. She said that Kris Aquino was wrong to have made those comments to Ruffa – she even involved Kris’s big brother, presidential candidate NoyNoy Aquino, in the issue. She said that Kris would probably become all “high and mighty” in the showbiz industry once Noynoy eventually wins as president. She also said that one of the major reasons she pulled Ruffa out from The Buzz is because of Kris’s aggression towards her daughter every Sunday.

“Every Sunday na lang binabara niya si Ruffa. Ano naiinggit ba siya kay Ruffa?” Annabelle commented.

Ruffa eventually responded to the issue on her Twitter account. “Sana man lang I was given the chance to say good-bye properly to my colleagues on The Buzz who I’ve grown to love like family over the last three years. Kung may ayaw sa akin saThe Buzz, may mga may gusto din po sa akin. Sana nabigyan po ako ng chance para magpaalam sa mga nagmamahal din po sa akin. Kahit dalawang piraso pa sila, karapatan ko rin namang magpaalam ng maayos. I’m just trying to do my job. This is not the first time. I’m also very diplomatic and can laugh about anything. Off-cam,the situation was far from pleasant. “

Now besides releasing an official apology, Kris further issued an apology in her show Showbiz News Ngayon to Ruffa and her whole family. She once again said she never intended to hurt Ruffa’s feelings, in fact, her comment was supposed to be a sign of affection to simply express how much she would miss Ruffa now that she’s moving to TV5.

Kris also addressed Anabelle Rama’s callous comments regarding the incident. She confessed she was indeed hurt by Anabelle’s allegations; but she just chose to understand where Anabelle was coming from since Ruffa was her daughter. She’d rather let this issue pass rather than make a bigger deal out of it.

She said that she is still hoping for the best.

“Twenty-three years na kaming magkakilala [ni Ruffa] at sa tinagal-tagal naman ‘non at sa hinaba-haba ng pagsasama namin gusto ko sabihin sa kanya na sana manatili kaming magkabigan.”
