If you’re anything like me, after a while the same old exercise routine can get pretty boring. So boring that you give up, get stuck in a rut and put on all the weight you worked hard to lose simply because you can’t face another treadmill without feeling bored out of your brains.
An important part of working out is mixing up workouts so that you don’t get stuck in a routine. It’s so much more fun to work out when you’re actually enjoying what you’re doing!
Here are three fun workouts that you should really have a go at this month. Who knows? Maybe exercise will be your new hobby?
1/ Pilates: Pilates is perfect for almost anyone. It improves posture, flexibility and muscle tonage- all while giving you a cardio workout at the same time! No wonder it’s a favourite of so many celebrities. If you can’t get to a pilates class, there are so many DVDs out that you can buy or even hire- just until you get the hang of it. You’ll never get bored of this workout, as there are so many levels of difficulty- so when you improve, you can try the harder stuff! Stay committed to this one, because muscle development takes a while to kick in- but trust me, you will notice a difference.
2/ Dance Class: Dancing will never get old. And it is so versatile, there is a style for almost anyone. Join a local class or even look for classes at your nearest gym. Body Jam and Body Pump classes are created to work up a sweat. Join with a bunch of girlfriends and it will almost feel like you’re out clubbing. But ten times more fun because you can look like an idiot while doing it because you’re not trying to impress anyone!
3/ Spin Class: This is one I am yet to try. Everytime I’m at the gym, I walk past the spin class room and hear the music blaring, the lights turned down low, with people riding for their likes on stationary bikes. What’s not to love about that? Apparently spin class breaks sweats on even the fittest of people- so it’s definately one to try if you’re after a challenge!
There are so many forms of exercise to keep your routine fresh and fun! Don’t be afraid to try new things- and if you are, just take your friends along with you! Exercise is always more fun when you’re with someone else!!
