Coffee – Can it be That Good?

There has been a lot said about the harmful effects of drinking too much coffee. While it is agreed that excessive consumption of anything is not healthy for the body even if they are proteins and minerals, the immensely loved coffee has a lot of advantages that you can quote to yourself when you need to indulge in a warm cup of rich coffee.

The journal, ‘Stroke’ published the findings of a new study that proved that women who had a cup of coffee or more in a day had significantly lower chances of a stroke. The study done among 35,000 women over a period of 10 years also tells us that coffee drinking women have better BMI scores, low risk of diabetes, low risk of high blood pressure. There are also other benefits of drinking coffee.

A study conducted among mice in Rutgers University showed that the ones that consumed caffeinated water had a much lower risk of getting skin cancer. A good cup of coffee can help prevent the damage that occurs to nerves due to high levels of stress.

A compound called trigonelline that is found in coffee, responsible for the flavor and aroma is also known to have anti-bacterial properties. While this does not mean that you do not need to indulge in proper oral care, chances of a cavity are reduced.

A Dutch study has also shown that drinking coffee in moderation can lower the risk of a heart disease by as much as 20 percent.

So the next time you sit with your favorite brew of aromatic coffee, realize that you are not only indulging your senses but also drinking to your health.
