In honour of Valentine’s Day, a TV Guide readers poll found that to their fans, these are the Ten couples they would love to see get together on the show. Of course, show producers are always incredibly hesitant to relieve the simmering tension between two of their stars, lest they fall prey to the ‘Moonlighting’ curse (ratings dropped once the two leads got together and the show ended soon after). Recent history has shown though that if handled right, it can work. The opposites-attract-whipsmart-banter between Booth and Brennan on ‘Bones’ remains firmly in place even though they are now starting a family together. So, there is hope yet for the ‘shippers’ of these TV will-be or won’t-be couples.
10. Cassie and Adam, ‘The Secret Circle’

The Secret Circle is a young adult TV series developed by Andrew Miller based on the books written by L.J. Smith. The central character, Cassie Blake (Britt Roberston), discovers that she descends from a line of witches after the death of her mother. She also discovers that there is a circle of witches in her new hometown of Chance Harbour. Adam Conant (Thomas Dekker) is part of that circle and was instrumental in helping unlock Cassie’s powers. Attracted to Cassie from the beginning, Adam seemed to be reluctant to reveal his feelings until she becomes more comfortable with her newfound powers. But mysterious forces come into town that may change his mind.
9. Jeff and Annie, ‘Community’

‘Community’ is about a smarmy lawyer, Jeff Winger, whose education is deemed void by the bar and is forced to attend a local community college with an extremely eclectic staff and student body. Annie Edison is one of his younger, fellow students. For the past 2 seasons, these two have tiptoed around each other and the age difference between them. Will that change in Season 3, we’ll soon find out.
8. Addison and Jake, ‘Private Practice’

This Grey’s Anatomy spin-off has definitely solidified its footing among fans and the recent Season 5 addition of Benjamin Bratt as Dr Jake Reilly, a fertility specialist, has contributed to an intriguing love triangle. Addison finds herself in the middle of two friends, her current love, Dr. Sam Bennett (Taye Diggs) and Jake Reilly. With her need for a child driving a wedge between herself and Sam, will Addison find herself turning to Jake instead?
7. Emily and Jack, ‘Revenge’

‘Revenge’ was one of last year’s runaway hits with many describing it ‘Gossip Girl for adults!’ Emily Thorne settles into the Hamptons intent on exacting revenge on the people who destroyed her family. Jack and Emily were childhood friends, and Jack is still in love with her. But Emily has developed feelings for Daniel, who she started dating just to help her get revenge on his mother. Where will the path of love lead?
6. Hardison and Parker, ‘Leverage’

Comprised of unorthodox protagonists, ‘Leverage’ is made up of a team of high-tech criminals intent on conning wealthy criminals and corrupt businessmen who continually evade the law. Since the beginning of the show, Parker and Hardison have toed that line between friendship and more and have even kissed during a job. Will they share a kiss this season that’s just them and not for the con? He seems to be closer to being ready for that change, but will she get there this season or will she continue to hold herself back?
5. Nick and Jess, ‘New Girl’

After her bad break-up, adorable dork Jess moves in with three single men. Of her roommates it is Nick who she seems to have developed the strongest chemistry. While fans may want them together, Jake Johnson can only go so far as to acknowledge their wish – “I think there’s something between the two characters, but I think they are — like in real life — if you feel a connection with somebody but also live with them, you don’t actually want to do it, because it could get very real very fast. And I think that’s where Nick and Jess are. I think they’ve noticed each other, I think there’s an attraction, but I don’t think either of them wants to have a live-in boyfriend or girlfriend, who they just met.” So, it looks like Nick and Jess will stay just roommates for a while longer.
4. Damon and Elena, ‘The Vampire Diaries’

It’s Twilight but with an entire mythology behind it and instead of being torn between a vampire and werewolf, Elena, a normal high school girl, is torn between two vampire brothers. Initially drawn to younger brother, Stefan (Paul Wesley), her friendship with older brother, Damon has increasingly leaned into romance. But a revelation, and a poor choice of words, in a recent episode may find Elena with neither brother! Damon and Elena? Stefan and Elena? It’ll take the rest of the season to find out.
3. Kensi and Deeks, ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’

The Special Projects arm of NCIS, this LA team handle the undercover work for the federal agency. Kensi Blye and Marty Deeks are partners assigned together after the death of Kensi’s last partner, Dominic Vail. Definitely a case of opposites attract, Deeks is as laidback as Kensi is focused and detail-oriented. Their constant stream of sarcastic comments and insults hide a growing dedication and attraction to each other. So much so, that Deeks was forced to admit (and then quickly retract) that they have a “thing”. Will that “thing” grow into more? We’ll wait and see.
2. Castle and Beckett, ‘Castle’

Long desired of their fans to get together, crime writer, Richard Castle and NYPD detective, Kate Beckett still continue the will-they, won’t-they dance despite a declaration of love (from Castle) and a kiss. But certain recent life-changing events force Beckett to evaluate herself and her life. Will that evaluation include returning those three little words? Fans are eagerly hoping it’s a yes.

There’s been sexual tension from the beginning. There’s been the sidelong glances, the sexual innuendos, the out-and-out flirting, not to mention hints of a possible of a possible hook-up in Paris! Still, the fans are left wanting. Other loves have come and gone on both sides, still, Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David go on with their dance. With both the producers and the two actors involved incredibly reluctant to have the characters end up together, this may be one TV couple who will stay unrequited.
