Just recently 50-year-old singer and actress Jennifer Lopez shared a sexy bikini selfie on Instagram explaining how “relaxed and recharged” she was following her epic Super Bowl halftime show performance.

Little did she know that her bikini selfie will inspire mothers all over the world to share their swimsuit selfies – her selfie became a viral movement called the ‘#JLoChallenge’. Keep in mind that these mothers aren’t showing off how toned their bodies are; instead, they are proudly embracing their various shapes and sizes and in the process encouraging others to be proud of their fitness journeys.

The “JLoChallenge” was initiated by mother Maria Kang, who also happens to be the founder of the parenting fitness community “No Excuses Mom.” Kang also shared a bathroom selfie on Instagram, copying J-Lo’s white two-piece and thus, the viral challenge was born.

Her selfie was also accompanied by a caption that had an important message for all mothers: “Thank you @jlo for inspiring this spontaneous pic in a white bikini this morning. Yes, my mirror is freckled with toothpaste (does your children only use your sink too?!), yes there are unpacked luggage on the ground, an iron, dog dryer and husband shaving somewhere in the background – but I”m getting it done! ⁣

“Own your story. Create your own accountability. Don’t make excuses for your inaction. If she can do it, if I can do it, if thousands of working moms who come in all sizes, shapes and ages can do it – then YOU CAN DO IT!”
