Are you quick to judge other people?
I saw this bizarre looking individual at a coffee shop the other day.
He had spiky multicoloured hair, he was dressed in all black, he was wearing ultra- thick eyeliners and he had a plethora of tattoos and piercings.
Some people stared at him (including me) but then other people just gave him that *cringe* look as if he was from another planet and rolled their eyes.
Now raise your hands up if you’re guilty of judging a person based on their appearance?
I thought so. I think everyone’s hands should be raised up at this point!
Of course, we all know that judging another individual is wrong because that’s against one of God’s commandments. But it’s not just that, ask yourself this question: Who are you to judge another human being when you’re not perfect yourself?
Though most people might not admit it, let’s face it – looks play an important part in today’s one-dimensional society.
Every time we see someone with various tattoos and piercings we immediately assume that they’re a bad news so we don’t associate with them.
And harsh as this may sound, every time we meet people who are overweight or unattractive we instantly take them off our possible girlfriend/boyfriend list.
But the reality is, we all have our own quirks and flaws – nobody’s perfect and that’s A FACT.
According to the bible, you should never be a hypocrite, “first remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.”
Therefore, let’s not focus on judging other people based on their outward appearance. Instead, let’s focus on projecting our BEST SELF out there.
“Do not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you.”
You don’t want other people judging you based on the way you look do you?
