‘Mona Lisa’ just smiled back after mug attack

Well someone wasn’t having a good day.

Everyone’s familiar with the ‘Mona Lisa’ right? It’s the Italian Renaissance masterpiece that is considered to be one of the world’s most expensive paintings. It’s a portrait of this dark haired woman with this odd facial expression and constipated smile. Well anyway, it rests in a special wing of the Louvre gallery in Paris and it’s actually protected by a bulletproof glass.

Since it’s so famous, it has been subjected to several attacks. It was stolen at one stage, only to be returned back 2 years later, acid was thrown at it, a rock was thrown at it – yet there it stands, the painting still stands with Mona Lisa smiling away. She’s pretty much saying “is that all you got big boy?”

Well a woman just recently put Mona Lisa’s bulletproof glass to the test yet again.

No, she wasn’t on a tank, nor did she have a samurai sword or a spear. Do you know what she had?

Okay, hold on to your seats because this one’s going to be mindboggling….

 She had a TEACUP!

That’s so menacing … Mona Lisa must’ve been shaking in her boots when this woman showed up!

According to the French police, a woman who was “not in her senses” tossed a teacup at the Italian Renaissance masterpiece. A police spokesman later told CNN that the woman was later transferred from police custody straight to a psychiatric unit. When asked about her identity, the spokesman refused to name who the woman is.

Well, with a police record for hurling a teacup at the Mona Lisa, would this woman really want to be identified by the media? – I think not!
