Baron Cafe: Fun and Quirky Surry Hills-style Cafe in Castle Hill

If you are in the Castle Hill area and looking for a great little cafe for a coffee or brunch, then I suggest heading out to the Baron Cafe located at Castle Towers Shopping Centre on the street overlooking the park.

The Baron Cafe is a trendy and quirky cafe spot which you would expect to see around Newtown or Surry Hills. The interior of The Baron is quirky with an urban feel to it; a place where all the cool cats are and somewhere to spend the weekends chilling away with friends, loved ones and strangers in desperate need of a catch up. The atmosphere was great and the place had a vibe that the Hills desperately needs, laid back and quirky, not that chain coffee shop feeling that you get at Gloria Jeans.

I must admit the delicious smell of coffee is what actually made me stop and notice this little cafe. The coffee is divine but still cheap and the meals are reasonably priced as most meals are under $15. Its a great spot for breakfast as they have a wide selection of breakfast alternatives including big breakfasts, bacon and egg rolls and bagels. I tried the bacon and egg roll which consisted of double smoked bacon, free range eggs, avocado, aioli & homemade tomato relish (pictured above) which was an excellent choice. The lunch time menu offers salad and light meals are available for a snack or light dinner. I wouldn’t suggest this place for dinner but it is the perfect place if you are looking for a trendy local cafe with a city feel for a light meal or drink.
