I was looking for a relaxing day out on Sunday and decided to visit the MasterChef Live 2012 event at the Hordern Pavilion, Moore Park.
MasterChef LIVE 2012 invites budding chefs & cheflings to get up close with the television programme’s favourite contestants, as well as some of the nation’s most renowned chefs for an interactive food experience including cooking classes, theatre shows, demonstrations, Q&As and MasterClasses.
This ultimate foodie event turned Moore Park into a festival of cooking for three delicious days and featured an all-star line-up of top chefs including George Colombaris, Matt Moran, Maggie Beer, Adriano Zumbo, Darren Robertson, Vincent Gadan, Kylie Kwong, Miguel Maestre and many more.

Contestants from all series including this year’s winner Andy Allen and runner up Julia Taylor, along with Ben Milbourne, Audra Morrice, Amina Elshafei, Kylie Millar, Kevin Perry, Alvin Quah, Hayden Quinn and Dani Venn, added to the superstar line-up over the three days.
There was so much to look at, learn and eat so I went on an empty stomach. One can learn all the tricks of the trade from the experts, attend cooking classes, buy the latest kitchen gadgets and learn about new foods and their uses. I didn’t attend any paid cooking shows but I was quite happy watching all the free shows and there is enough to learn just walking around and talking to people. A little tip for next year though….make sure you book tickets to the cooking classes in advance as these are always quick to sell out.
