Once you say ‘Yes!’ to the things that you love, embrace it and never look back. There is nothing more apt than these words which best describes Drusilla’s interest in fashion. Drusilla Ollennu or drudoll is StarCentral Magazine’s Fashionista of the Month for the Month of June 2015. With everything that is going on in her career right now, Drusilla has clearly taken her life into an enjoyable ride. Not everyone is as brave as her, but standing by what she loves has ushered her to the right path.

Her passion for fashion has been evident ever since she was younger when her mother would take her to shopping every weekend. Being exposed to an environment filled with clothing collections and designs has lightened up her inner fire to begin styling clothes.

Drusilla’s love of fashion initially began to blossom when she first tried fashion writing. She had a fashion column in the school newspaper in Fairfield University and brought more life to it after she finished her degree in English Journalism. She fell in love with it, invested time, money, and energy along with sacrifices just to create a space for what she refers to now as a big part of her life –fashion blogging.

Art becomes deeper and more meaningful when you practise it. This is exactly what Drusilla does. Aside from being inspired by other fashion bloggers and feeding each other off with inspirations, she also enjoys watching runway shows, gawking at collections that have yet to be released, and the most memorable of all, attending live fashions shows whenever she gets the chance. In fact, she had the best time of her life when she attended the NY Fashion Week where she sat with models, fashion designers, and celebrities.

‘Every day, you have the power to choose how you want to present yourself to the world, and that is a strong liberty to have’, she stresses like a true art advocate who believes that fashion is freedom and the act of styling yourself is an art because of the complete creative control you have in moulding your look.

Drusilla is also keen to express her joy for the full support and love she is getting from her family and other loved ones. She shares that at first, her parents wanted her to enter the medical or law fields but after they realised how much the fashion world means to her, they quickly jumped on board with her.

For all her sacrifices, endeavours, and experiences, Drusilla is generous to let us in to her world. She mentioned that the fashion industry is full of people with differing point of views and a unique sense of style, which makes it totally fine to be open to people’s disapproval. ‘Sometimes, it can be a breath of fresh air to have a differing opinion’, she adds.

Within the next ten years, Drusilla hopes to get married and start a family. At the same time, she also plans to become a stylist and eventually be a successful fashion director for a magazine.
