Jessica Nackovski, StarCentral Magazine’s Sexiest Woman of the Month for August 2017, never could have suspected that her love for food would propel her into the modeling world! She shares that she was “at the Cake, Bake and Sweets show in Melbourne and a highly regarded photographer approached me and asked me if I could be a model for a photoshoot he was doing and it all just kind of took off from there!”

The professional nutritionist and personal trainer has since seen her world transformed. The modelling industry has allowed her the chance to see more of the world on photoshoots where, she admits, she loves “getting all dolled up by the amazing hair and make-up team…” Her most memorable experience to date would have to be when she entered the Top Model Worldwide competition this year. Established since 2006, it is the world’s leading professional model search competition. Held at the Hilton London Metropole in March this year, Jessica reveals that “it was my very first time walking the runway and I totally loved everything about it, including the backstage excitement, working with amazing designers and getting to wear fabulous fashion, and making new friends who share the same passion as I do!” On top of the incredible experience, she was also named one of the grand finalists!

It’s safe to say that the Macedonian beauty is loving the turn that her life has taken. One of her favourite things about the modelling world is that she’s been able to meet many interesting people along the way. From Aussie actors Dan Ewing and Reece Milne, singer and X-Factor Australia 2011 finalist, Johnny Ruff, Australia’s darling of television and theatre, Lisa McCune, to Oxford, UK-based womenswear designer, Lenie Boya, whose work was featured at the recent London Fashion Week.

While there have been many positives, there has also been negatives in Jessica’s chosen career. Being away from family and friends so often is a definite downside as well as, she recalls, “having to do photoshoots for the opposite season, such as the typical bikini shoot in the middle of winter!” Another negative has been the industry itself. Notoriously competitive and at times, a danger to one’s self-esteem, the 25-year old confesses that “it is a very tough industry and you really need to have a thick skin if you want to succeed, you can’t take rejections personally! The industry has taught me how to be more resilient and to keep working on myself, not only from an emotional and mental perspective, but also from a physical perspective too!”

It is fortunate then, that Jessica can count on the support of loved ones to give her a sense of normalcy. She gushes that “they have always encouraged me to follow my dreams and do whatever it takes to succeed. I really couldn’t have asked for a more supportive bunch of people to call my family!” The Melbourne-based stunner also professes to trying to live as normal a life as possible “by going to the gym (shout out to everyone at Atomic Gym, you’re all amazing!) regularly and keeping fit, cooking and eating healthy as well as socialising with family and friends.”

Having Advanced Diplomas in Naturopathy, Nutritional Medicine, Western Herbal Medicine and Legal Practice, it’s clear that Jessica is spoilt for choice as to which direction life will take her. But she admits that “outside of my modelling career, I would love to travel more for leisure, get more involved with charitable organisations, have my own mobile PT business, and settle down and have my own family.” Good luck on your future endeavours, Jessica!

‘LIGHTNING FAST’ Round:

1. Last good movie I’ve seen – ‘Snatched’, I was in stitches the entire time!
2. What do you consider beautiful and why? Kindness! If there was more of it in this world, it would be a much happier and more beautiful place.
3. What haven’t you done yet that you wish you could? Eradicate homelessness, hopefully one day…
4. Complete this sentence: “If I had no fear, I’d…” Bungee jump, abseil, skydive, maybe not hate birds so much! Clearly I don’t to very well with heights or birds!
5. What is the one “flaw” you wouldn’t change about yourself? I have a very sarcastic sense of humour which can sometimes get me into a bit of trouble, but it’s totally me so I would never change that about myself!
