Philippine-based model Cyen Lazam’s appeal is definitely in her natural and innocent girl-next-door look. From her beautiful dark silky long hair to her flawless skin, Lazam’s sweet yet sultry aura continues to be adored by thousands of fans. At auto shows, motor shows, and product launches, she always gets mobbed by hordes of grown men snapping away with their iPhones, so it’s no wonder that she has over 50,000 followers on Instagram.
StarCentral Magazine recently sat down with Cyen Lazam to find out more about what it’s like to be a model and an Instagram star and here’s what went down.
1. Can you please give us a bit of a background as to who you are and what you do? Talk to us about your journey to where you are now.
My name is Cyen Lazam; I’m currently a model who represents different companies as a Freelance Brand Ambassadress in various events such as Auto shows, Motorshows, Product launches, Mall Activations, Print Ads, Commercials, etc.
2. What do you like most about being an influencer?
What I like most is that I get to venture into the fun, exciting world of events and we get to give joy to the public through promotions where random people become entitled to avail exclusive deals by merely partaking in activities which are usually created by the marketing department.
3. The downside to being an influencer?
The only downside I see is that even if you are a pleasant person, people who hate you will never see the beauty inside you.
4. What’s your favorite social media platform?
I’m sharing my ideas and experiences via Instagram and Facebook. The two social media tools are very useful, especially in today’s generation. Almost all age groups, from youngsters to middle age have social media accounts to make communication convenient, faster, and more accessible.
5. What’s your best advice when it comes to growing your Instagram account?
I believe that to acquire a large number of followers; one must post unique and inspiring photos which Instagram users can only witness via your account. Being different from the others will leave an impression of your account standing out from the rest.
6. What powerful strategies did you use to grow your Instagram followers to how it is now?
Make sure that you show your best assets everytime you post something. Is it senseful? Humorous? Purposeful? Considering these fundamental questions and taking action will attract more followers as long as the public see that your account is meaningful for them.
7. What hashtags would you recommend that helped grow your account?
Always use a hashtag that is related to what topic you are into. Here are a few examples of some hashtags I use: #autoshow #makeuplaunching #nameofthebrand. The netizens always look for the keywords that directly reflects your content.
8. Who have been the most interesting people you’ve met so far?
There are lots of successful individuals I’ve always admired, yet, the most interesting people I have met are the businessmen. I’m always curious about how they started from nothing and then worked their way up to reaching something they can be truly proud of. Once their legacy becomes established, they then serve as a role model for the generations to come.
9. Being part of an industry whose only emphasis is on the outside characteristics of a person, how have you stayed grounded?
Working in this kind of industry can be pretty tricky, where the physical appearance is always a priority. However, I never use my looks as my main instrument when it comes to reaching out to people. Being too superficial does not contribute to one’s wellness. I’ve always believed that a good influencer focuses on his/her genuine behavior and moral values first.
10. Is your family supportive of you being in the limelight?
I’m blessed that my family supports me in whatever career I am into. My mother and father are part of my success. From my humble beginnings to where I am now, they have always been behind me pushing me to grow more.
11. What are your future plans? Inside your career or out of it.
I’m currently collecting various resources so I can use it as a learning ground to put up my own business.
