A potential round two between Mayweather and McGregor is in the works, only this time, McGregor has the homecourt advantage because it’s going to be held inside the UFC Octagon.

Floyd Mayweather told TMZ that he serious about fighting in the UFC and fact, he just revealed that he’s taking the most crucial step to making sure the fight happens, and that’s getting an MMA license. He told TMZ Sports that he’s planning to submit the paperwork so he can get licensed as a pro-MMA fighter.

Mayweather said “Everything takes time. Eventually, we’re gonna apply for the license, and hopefully, we can fight.”

There’s no clear indication of when this will happen or when he’s going to start his MMA training with UFC champ Tyron Woodley, but he did say it’s roughly within 6-8 months.

“Even if it takes 6 to 8 months — whatever it takes. We want to make sure that everything is done correctly,” he quipped.
